Inbound Caller ID from Cell Phones

Post by KevinTLutz » Sun Dec 19, 2010 3:34 am

I recently switched to Ooma Telo and I'm very happy thus far. One different that I noticed is that the Caller ID for my families cell phone calls from Sprint are showing up as City, State (e.g., "Aurora IL" or "W Chicago IL"). Previously, I got the correct name of the caller.

The city is not that of the cell tower as the caller id appears the same no matter where they are with their cell phone when they make the call. The obvious problem is that the caller id for all my family members appears the same no matter who is calling. I noticed that some cell carrier caller ids work and others come up as "Wireless Caller" or "Illinois".

Anyone else experience this problem? BTW, the caller id is transferred just fine through my house phone wiring to my cordless phones and Direct TV units.

Thanks

same thing in Southern California. I thought at first when I tested my Ooma from my cell phone that it did show the number or my name?
