Loopback support

Post by MattyBoy » Sun Dec 05, 2010 6:09 pm

When will the Telo support Lookback for internal resolution to external IP, back inside my network. This is becoming a problem. I will just have to move the Telo inside my router.

My guess is never since 99% of their customers have no need for it. Put the Telo behind your router. It works fine there as long as you don't have a commercial level (very expensive) router with a locked down outbound firewall.

Is this the same topic? This workaround looks to be too much trouble anyway: http://forum.portforward.com/YaBB.cgi?num=1221247720

Depends on the application whether it is a workaround.

It isn't a generic workaround because internal network packets destined for your WAN address will still not get routed back. In some applications, you might not the ability to change the appropriate settings in your black box device.

The workaround mentioned is akin to someone saying loopback doesn't work and the reply being try typing your internal IP instead. Ok for some applications but not all.
