Blacklisted Number still going thru

I blacklisted a certain number and somehow, every day my phone still ring and suprise to see this number.

The number is (410) 774-8549.

Do you by any chance have another number forwarding to your Ooma number? If that is the case, I've found that the blacklisting will not work. For instance.. When I purchased Ooma, I immediately setup a call forward from my (123)123-4567 number to point to my new temporary Ooma (321)321-7654 number.

If the blacklisted caller calls (321)321-7654 it will be blocked. If they call (123)123-4567 it will go through. This is a temporary problem until my Port goes through, which takes for EVER.

No, I didn't use the call forwarding. Anyway, Dennis P sent me a couple email and they check that somehow that number did not go to their blacklist server.

I have a better luck porting my number, took about 24 days after I sent all correct information.

I have have this problem also. I have my QWEST home phone forwarding to my Ooma number until porting is complete, but any blacklisted number calling the Qwest number and forwarding to Ooma is not being trapped/blocked by Ooma. I did a test by blocking my cell phone. If I call the Ooma number directly, it's blocked, but if I call the qwest number and forward to Ooma, the cell is not blocked.

Does your Quest number have caller ID ?

Yes, the Qwest number does have caller id. the number that forwards also shows up in the Ooma log correctly and displays the blacklist shield, but my phone rings instead of being blocked.

I think the fix for the (410) XXX-XXXX number going through in the original thread should resolve the problem you're currently experiencing with the call forwarded numbers going through. I think the fix should be tested and deployed within the next couple weeks.
