Using bueno to call my ported number does not work

Post by Kent » Tue Dec 22, 2009 2:55 pm

Does anyone know why I cannot call my home Ooma system phone number using a service like Bueno.com or even Google voice? I assume both of these use VOIP so does that mean a VOIP phone can't call my home phone? Maybe related...Has anyone used magic jack to call an Ooma number?

I have someone out of the country that calls me using Bueno sometimes but now it won't work under the Ooma system..it worked previously with ATT.

Also, I do have the capability to call a Bueno number so that works correctly.

Is there anything I can do to receive calls from Bueno numbers?

Thanks for your response.

Okay, I found out that my original Ooma number CAN receive Bueno calls...I guess the problem I was having has to do with the newly ported number from ATT.

Maybe if I wait it will eventually work as it did before.

I use Google Voice as a front end to my ooma hub and also to my Telo. Works great for me!
