Google Voice Problem

Post by BobB » Wed Aug 18, 2010 4:31 pm

I set up GV as my voice mail. It sends a transcribed text to my cell, my wifes cell and an email. That is working good. The problem is when I try to call home or my wifes cell from my cell it goes right to VM and asks for my pin. The same thing happens with my wifes cell. Neither of us can call home or each other.
Any ideas on what I did wrong?
Thanks,
Bob

You should probably ask this question on the Google Voice forum.

Sure. Don't call your GV number - call the actual number of the place you want to reach. I've been using GV "naked" for over a year now. It rings my home, cell, and ooma numbers when a person calls the number. If I have the cell phone and my wife wants to call me from the house, she dials my cell number. Works just fine.

I got it working. I had to play with the settings in GV. I found some information that helped in the GV forums. Thanks for pointing that out.
