I am evaluating ooma for possible purchases by friends and family and have discovered one significant negative to the service -- the necessity of adding a "1" to EVERY 800 call and EVERY call outside of the user's home area code.

This is a tremendous inconvenience and separates ooma from most (or all) of its VOIP peers, where 10-digit dialing is de rigueur.

For us, the lack of 10-digit dialing is a deal killer.

Can you provide a specific date when the need to add the superfluous "1" to each of these described calls will be eliminated?

An ooma employee stated yesterday that 10-digit dialing is currently in testing and should be available soon, but no specific date was given.
