Premier $99 Deadline and Lifetime...

Anyone heard any status on being about to add additional years thru My Ooma before the $99 extension ends?

Also - I am still within my 6-Month Costco Premier complimentary period but went ahead and added $99.00 additional year ahead of time for number porting benefit. If I did Lifetime before I was into my paid year - would they credit the $99.00 I paid towards the $350.00 and would the option of a handset apply?

You'll need to get official information, but here's how I think it's supposed to work:

For the Ooma Hub/Scout combo - $99.99 Premier yearly subscription includes a number port (if you want it). Additional years will be available through 12/31 for $99.99 and in the future (after 12/31) will be $119.99 per year or I think you could switch to monthly at $9.99 per month. No additional add-on is included for any additional years (like a scout). Lifetime Premier subscription is available through customer service for $350. No additional add-on is included for Lifetime.

I am anticipating (i.e., "guessing") that if they continue to offer lifetime after December 31st, that they will continue to use the 3.5 year breakeven model and go with $420...

Makes sense... I think TiVo lifetime was also based on a 3.5 year breakeven model if I recall correctly... So if I were you...and you truly are interested in this...I would pull the trigger... I doubt the price goes down from where it is now...

Looking back through TONS on this...

* We've grandfathered existing Ooma Premier annual subscribers at the previous rate of $99.99. New annual subscriptions will be priced at $119.99

This does not differentiate between Hub/Scout and Telo - just "existing Ooma Premier subscribers"...

I assume we will continue to get it for $99.99/year as existing Premier subscribers... Or did I miss an update to the updates???

I think this only applies if you were an existing Hub/Scout subscriber before 10/1/09...then you could upgrade to a Telo at the same rate

since the Telo came out on 10/1/09 it is covered under the new terms and rates

I upgraded from Hub/Scout to Telo on 10/08.

My Hub/Scout was activated on 08/28 and I did my LOA for porting from Vonage on 09/01...

At least my timing was spot on this time! :D

ok, I think you are good to go at 99.99 per year if you order premier by 12/31/09
note: you can order multiple years at the same price, but once they run out it will cost $119.99 afterwards

so for clarification, if I wanted to port a number and get lifetime it would be $39.99 + $350?

I find it odd to say that "purchase by 12/31/09" and you get the $99.99 but 01-01-10 it increases if the announcement said they were Grandfathering all existing customers at the $99.99/year?

That is not Grandfathering existing Premier subscribers - just a time sensitive promotion.

Doesn't seem this should be so complicated - "Grandfathering" to me means freezing your pricing as long as you are a customer.
