Call waiting is, IMHO, the creation of either the devil or someone who has no manners. How about the option to disable it -- not just on a particular call (*70 or DND) but as the default condition.

Virtually every other phone service lets you do this.

Wow, I find call waiting a Must have I like to know who's calling when they call, no matter if I'm on the phone or not. Not everyone likes leaving voicemails.

True, but not every phone has a called ID display.

Which brings me to idea #2. Comcast let you display called ID on your PC. That should be pretty easy for Ooma.

That would be nice if ooma could create a simple application to display caller id in a pop-up message to all PC's connected downstream from the hub.

I don't know if we'll see something like that in the future, but in the meantime you could check this out:

I use the phonetray software and it works well. It also gives you the option of scheduled "do not disturb", and blocking all calls from certain area codes or exchanges and best of all, it's free. The only quirky thing with it is that it only works with certain modems. I had to purchase an external modem to work with it. It displays caller id info right on the computer screen.
