Can you please explain to me why calls to certain numbers - classed as NTS are billed at a flat rate of 0.65c/minute?
After taxes and fees the call to a 844 858 number came out at 75.5c/minute. After further research, this number has a fixed local rate of only 0.05105p/minute (approx 8c/minute) so why the massive upcharge?

If this rate is so high, then a warning should be played before the call is made as how are we, the caller to know that this is the rate of the call?

Very frustrating that Ooma has decided to over-charge in this fashion

This is a user forum. Usually, Ooma doesn't answer general questions such as this on the forum.

If one knows that they are about to make calls at a premium, checking the rate before calling would be a great idea.

Just doing some scanning on the internet, these specific destinations cost tens of cents per minute everywhere so I would think people would look up the rate before making that call.
