Premier Service+Warranty

Post by Neubiee » Mon Apr 27, 2009 11:51 am

Premier service in its current state is great but I feel once google voice is out there it's going to start cutting into it.

What do you guys think about OOMA offering extended warranty on devices that subscribe to annual Premier plan?

So as long as your paying $99/year your device is covered. (At least for the first 3-4 years)

NVM. Looks like something is in works. Here is a quote from Bobby B dates back to 2008

Hi sonpit, interesting idea! We're currently exploring bundling an extended warranty with existing Premier services - there'll be more to come in the future. Thanks for your suggestion!

Actually, I think it is a very good idea except for one thing, there are a number of potential users who will never opt for the extra service... just don't need it. Thus, there should be an alternative for these people that would ameliorate their fears of early equipment failure.

Umm, I thought that subscribing to Premier service already extends the warranty. This is how the terms and conditions reads:

"Should the customer subscribe to a Monthly Service Bundle during the first year of service, the terms of the Limited Warranty will survive and extend from the first year of coverage for such continuous period of time as the customer continues to pay the fees associated for such Monthly Service Bundle."

Hmm, I wonder if a yearly subscription to Premier qualifies as a "Monthly Service Bundle"!?

I would think so, but I'd like to know for sure too to be honest.

Can anyone from ooma confirm this please? Also, since it's listed in terms and conditions why not advertise it? thanks

This clause was added by mistake, which is the reason it hasn't been advertised anywhere. I'll ask to get that clause corrected. Sorry about the confusion!

Dang! Where is one of those little unhappy faces when you really need it?
