I already ranted about this in my first post.

But I'd like to say it again.

Call screening should be a basic answering feature.

It's not a bell or whistle.

It should be in the $250 hardware.

If you don't like Ooma, you may wish to consider returning your core system. I think there is a 30 day trial.

For my answering machine, Ooma works just fine. I have no problems getting it to answer calls instead of the Ooma voice mail.

I am sorry to read of your difficulty and hope someone from Ooma can offer assistance.

OOMA provides a good, basic telephone service for free!
I never had call waiting, or an answering machine with my Verizon service (never needed it, nor did I want to pay extra)

I got exactly what I need with OOMA's basic services

If you need all the "extras" you should be willing to pay for them
