Do you keep listing in phone book when you port to Ooma?

Post by mac711 » Wed May 02, 2012 2:15 pm

I just tried to ask this in chat, but they kept saying "Yes you can port for $39.99." He was completely clueless.

Question:

When you port a number to Ooma, will your white pages listing remain in the phone book? Vonage lets you "check" a box on the port application if you want to maintain your listing. Ooma has no such option.

Therefore, any idea if you keep your listing? I wanted to keep mine (AT&T Phone Book).

Thanks!

It's hit or miss.
I ported from Verizon to Vonage. My listing stayed in the white pages.
Several years later I ported from Vonage to Ooma. My listing stayed in the white pages.

The white pages are no longer published for residentilal phone numbers here.
Only business numbers are in the white pages.
Residential numbers have to be looked up online.

Thank you murphy. I suppose I will have to see what happens.

I really like that Vonage lets you check that box "keep listing with current provider." Ooma should consider adding that, but too late for me now I suppose.
