Ooma Communications - Great

Post by lbmofo » Wed Nov 23, 2011 5:36 pm

Apparently main Ooma support phone line is having issues due to POTS? :)

But Ooma is doing a great job keeping folks up to speed via social media:

Ooma Support page had this following blurb:

In my opinion, social media is a piss poor way to communicate with your customers. If it's important, then it should be communicated to all OOMA customers by email!

There is always a balance to strike. Social media is good because the info is out there for people who want to get informed.

Btw, do you get an email when your internet or TV channel goes out? Do you get an email for some 800-Comcast number being down? Appropriate level of communication is better than spamming heck out of people.

There is people, like me, who does not want any thing to do with facebook nor twister. IMO, I prefer sticky post on the forum, and then email.

I'm not so sure, but I think those 800 number should be on POTS, which will be the last one to go down in any circumstance (natural disaster, etc...) However, a tree falling down and cut off the phone line is another problem, but it has nothing with the down servers.

Seems like no matter what a company does, there's no pleasing everyone.
