Was the 4/13 Outage Due to a F/O Cable Cut in San Jose?

Post by southsound » Tue Apr 14, 2009 4:34 pm

I just hear this morning in Fox News that ATT had suffered a vandalism incident where 4 fiber optic cables were cut in San Jose on 4/13. They said that phone service, ATMs, cell service and Internet were all affected in (I think they said) 4 cities. Does anyone know if this was the cause of the ooma datacenter going offline?

We are still working with our providers to understand the nature of yesterday's Internet outage, however we currently have no reason to believe it has to do with the fiber cuts in San Jose that were reported over the weekend.
