Vonage allowed me to set a different ring for incoming numbers that I setup. This way, I knew if the call was family by the ring tone.

You can setup a different style of ring for each line coming in to ooma. Log into the lounge and click "Preferences" you will see the ring pattern next to each line you have setup with ooma.

With vonage, I was able to put in a phone number and assign a ring tone to that specific phone number. When that phone number was detected on caller-id, the specific ring tone would ring. That was great because I could assign a different ring tone to different callers.

I don't know if I can do it with ooma. However, I just bought a new Phillip Dect 6.0 cordless phone, and I can have different ring tone for up to 4 different groups(unassigned and 3 assigned groups). It's enough for me.
