Is it possible to integrate SMS messaging (text messaging) into the ooma device?

Interesting idea. I could see how this could be done on a telo handset (since it has a display).

That does open some interesting possibilities... Maybe even a telo to telo chat feature... Or maybe tied into one of the google apps. I could see how sitting on the couch would be a great place to message, especially if you did not want to use your cell phone.

In my case I don't get very good signal in my house. So having 3 ooma telo handsets would be very convenient.

SMS has been possible and used outside of North America for some time on landline etc. It basically uses the same protocol as CID/CNAM as near as I can tell.

would be super amazing if ooma could process text to speech on their servers and just deliver the sms as a normal phone call which could go into voicemail if not picked up. that would be terrific.
