What does **0 and **1 mean?

Post by wpwood3 » Thu Jul 29, 2010 7:31 pm

When I go to My Ooma > Preferences > Phone Numbers and click on my phone numbers I get the "Manage Phone Numbers" screen. My first phone number has "**0" at the end and the second one has "**1"

What does this mean?

It allows you to select the number that is shown as your outgoing CID. In other words, if you want your first number displayed, just dial normally. If you want your second number shown as your CID, dial **1 before placing the call. If you have a scout (with a hub, the older ooma system) or a Telo handset, and have designated that device as a personal device and assigned your second number to that device, then dialing **0 will send your primary number as your CID. (CID stands for Caller IDentification)
