Now that I have Ooma as my only home phone, I'm wondering if I can get my phone number published in the local phone books...My number was ported from Verizon landline, so is still listed in the current phone books, but how do I get it re-listed next year? Or, is this impossible?

Ooma does not publish phone number listings.
My old Verizon phone number has remained in their listings through one directory update so far.
