Asked for password by Ooma on outgoing calls?

Post by matjen » Sat Aug 29, 2009 8:35 am

Hello,

For the last two days whenever I make an outbound call and the other party's answering machine/message picks up, my Ooma system then asks for a password. What/why is this and how do I stop it? The call isn't going through and my Ooma voice mail system is intercepting for some reason.

The ooma connection tone is confusing the other answering machine
you can disable the connection tone in the lounge

Is it every outbound call that you're experiencing this with?

There is a known problem with the ooma connection tone and some cell phone voicemail. It may affect other answering machines as well. The connection tone is the little jingle that your ooma plays after you have dialed the number and the call connects. To disable it, go to the lounge, click Preferences, then System. The setting you want is "disabled".

Welcome to ooma! You're going to like it here!

Thank you. That did the trick. For some reason this wasn't a big problem for me before. I have had Ooma fro 6 months. Works like a charm now though.

certain answering machines tend to confuse the ooma jingle with DTMF access tones - glad to hear it's fixed
