Ooma blocks wifi use

Post by keving » Mon Jun 17, 2013 3:49 am

I was on the telephone last night and my friend could not access the internet via wifi until I hung the ooma up. Have cable modem with separate wifi router.

Any thoughts?

thank you

Were you using a cordless phone that uses the 2.4 GHz band?
If so the cordless base should be at least 6 feet away from the wireless router.
WiFi is also on 2.4 GHz and they can easily interfere with each other.

Yes I was using a cordless handset but I do not know what band and they were only a foot or two apart. Thank you.
