Japan Skype to Ooma Requests Private ID

Post by bsiegelfl » Tue Jan 24, 2012 6:23 pm

A caller from Japan using Skype to call my Ooma number gets a message to enter a private ID. His call does not proceed further (no voicemail connection, no other options, etc.). This caller can use Skype to call my cell phone or to Skype on my computer without difficulty. Any idea what this private ID is and how to deal with it?

Thanks in advance.

Do you have your Ooma account set to block anonymous callers?

Unless it is a default condition, no. I do not have the Premier package so I can't see that setting.

Thanks for your comments. Any other thoughts?

From your cell phone try calling yourself using *67 (block callerid) and see what you get. If you get anonymous reject message, give Ooma customer support a call if you can't change the setting yourself.
