"The issue described in those (this thread) threads appear to be carrier related issues and the user should call into our support line and we can try switching the route to that phone number to see if we can get the DMTF's to work".

so I'm the OP, and mine now works ... this must have been addressed as part of the issue which Dennis describes (my issue was entering conference bridge #'s for the US AT&T conferencing service) .. I did also submit to customer service and will report to them that it's been addressed .. if it comes back, I'll call them directly, but all is good now ..
