I have my Ooma service set up for call forwarding on a net outage. My Internet connection went down a little over 40 minutes ago, but when I called my home phone about 5 minutes ago, it just rang and rang and eventually went to voice mail.

I tried again about 5 minutes later and forwarding worked. Either it takes around 40 minutes for Ooma to detect the net outage or it only takes affect shortly after someone attempts to call me. Either way that's too long.

Not from my experience. It's usually 30 minutes or more. I have no idea why it takes so long considering the Ooma Telo is in constant connection with the services. Ooma should be able to tell rather quickly that something isn't connected.
