Problem with Three-Way Calling

Post by brad2827 » Fri Mar 20, 2009 9:55 pm

Hello,

Wanted to see if anyone has a solution to the following problem:

1. Establish call on Line 1 ("1" Key on ooma box).

2. Establish call on Line 2 ("2" Key)

3. Join the calls (press 1 and 2 together)

This works okay unless the Line 2 call rolls to voicemail. I can press "1" to only speak with the first caller, but this does not terminate Line 2-- it flashes on the ooma box and holds the connection with Line 2 (which results in a long, empty voicemail for the Line 2 party).

Extraordinarily frustrating and idiotic.

It appears the only way to end the Line 2 call is to terminate the connection with Line 1 as well and start over. Even the Baby Bells were smart enough to solve this problem when Three-Way calling was first offered in the early 1980's- namely, simply press the Flash button to end Line 2 while preserving the connection with the first party.

Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.
