The other person is usually my brother and he is using Vonage. My difficulties are more noticeable when talking with him but are also pretty apparent on hard line calls and cell phones. It may be he is at the top of the list because we spend more time on the phone.

He has suggested it might be a hardware problem and recommended returning the Ooma to Costco and getting another one. Is this something I can determine?

I appreciate everyone's willingness to help.
