My haven't had any complaints with local calls, but when I call toll free numbers, (800,866,877) there are problems. There are patches of a fuzzy type of intermittant static. This happens on about 90% of '800' calls, reguardless of who I'm calling. I also notice it 100% of the time when I am being transfered from one operator to another, when you would normaly hear the transfer tones.
My ISP is Cox cable. I am using a Motorola SBG900 Surfboard Gateway Modem, Airlink 101 wireless router and my Ooma hub is connected between them as per the instructions.
I did 5 VIOP test over 15 minutes this morning and the only thing that is consistant is the download speed. My jitter ranges from 1.3/.06 to 32.8/28.1 and my upload speed from 181k to 281k. Suggestions? Fixes?

Your upload quality is all over the map.

Connect a computer, that has an active firewall, directly to your cable modem and rerun the test. Turn off the cable modem while you are moving the cables.

A couple of questions that may sound strange but might give more insight. Have you integrated your landline with your ooma or are you running it without a landline? Are you using a cordless phone - if so, is it 900 mhz, 2.4 ghz, 5.8 ghz, or DECT 6.0 (1.9 ghz)?

Southbound, no landline and a panasonic dect 6.0 from my scout and a vtech dect 6.0 from the hub. Both are base stations with multipal handsets and the same issue happens with both systems.

Murphy, here are 5 more results hardwired to the modem. It still isn't pretty....

Woa! That's about the worst upload speed I've seen!
Try shutting down your modem for about 15 minutes and power it back on. Give cable a chance to reconnect and see if that doesn't help.

Might be time for cable to come out and check that modem and your connection quality. Something is not right.

I agree with Wayne!

Other than Upload QOS your other numbers look good and should support VOIP

Well, the moden is my property, so Cox won't be coming out to check it. I can replace it and retest.
After a power off reset, results have not improved, in fact my download got worse.

Try connecting the ooma hub behind the router

Can you connect to your modem status/log pages and see if there are any errors?

You may want to try a cable modem from your ISP. It's possible that yours isn't configured correctly.

NicNak, placing the Ooma hub behind the router doesn't seem to help.

bw1, while it is MY modem, it was initally setup by Cox during installation. I have however copied todays log.
