We have our Ooma telo configured as recommended in the documentation (cable modem > Ooma telo > network router/switch). The Ooma documentation indicates that this will give priority to Oooma voice traffic, since the Ooma telo is in between the cable modem and the computer network (router/switch). Does this mean that the computer Internet traffic will be slower than it would be without the Ooma telo? In other words, does inserting the Ooma telo between the cable modem (Internet feed) and the computer network router/switch degrade the speed of the computers on the network (their Internet access)? We use the Internet for computer access much more frequently than the Ooma telo for voice. I don't want to slow down computer Internet speed in favor of voice traffic. Perhaps the voice QOS priority only kicks in when the Ooma telo has voice traffic. I don't really know for sure.

Thanks for your help in aswering this question.

Kicks in only when Ooma is in use.

You'd want to set upload QoS and disable the download QoS by setting it to 0; computer/internet use is mostly download anyway so you won't experience any degradation even if Ooma is being used.
