I'm looking at switching to Android for my mobile. Which phones and what version of Android work best with the Ooma mobile app?

Thanks for the reminder Thunderbird. I had all but forgotten about it. I wanted to go Nexus S, but for multiple reasons I ended up going iPhone. The Ooma app works well with iPhone, which I knew already from having it on my wife's iPhone. One added convenience I did not know about the app is that you can call out via WiFi while the Telo is in use or if you are talking with someone over the app, calls will still ring the Telo. It's as if you have a Telo handset, without actually owning one (restricted by minutes of course). I don't own a Telo handset yet (waiting for the new version), but I assume that if I did, then we would be able to have three simultaneous connections (Telo line 1, Telo handset line 2 and Ooma app). The exception being that the Ooma app would be limited by minutes. For us, the 250 minutes/month included with our Premier account is plenty for the occasion where the line is in use and one of us needs to make a call, considering that between our two cell phones, there's 500 minutes with the carrier as well.

It would still be interesting to hear some feedback from someone regarding the Android App and specific phone models/Android version and builds that work well with it. That would be useful information when recommending Ooma to friends or family with Android phones.

OK, when I get time. I have 4S and my wife has 3GS, so that should give you a good idea. Ooma app version we are using is 3.0.5

Hello
I am a recent customer to Ooma. I just got the Ooma Telo on Sunday from Costco and got it set it up on the same day.
I also bought Ooma Mobile for Android for $9.99 from Android market:
Calls from Voip line from Home works perfectly.

These comments are for Android Mobile App:
1. I tried to call India, at least 7 to 8 times and so far I couldn't talk
clearly even once.
2. Each time, either they are not able to listen to me clearly or
3. some static sound mixes or
4. call drops automatically.
5. It takes lot of the mobile devices battery power. App seems to be always
in active mode and doesn't go to background.

Does any one over here using this app in Android Device and is it working well?
My Device is: Samsung Skyrocket with AT&T

Note For Customer service: Before suggesting me to check the network, device.... I am using the same device with vonage App which works perfectly...

Looks like Support is not interested to fix ro they silently acknowledge the issue.

Update:
I called custmer service and wanted to return the app, they said I have 3 to 5 days to return, just unistall and follow the instruction from the phone. I uninstalled the App on 4th day and there is no option to request for return , there is only contact Support so I send the e-mail to support@ooma.com and there response is:
"Dear Sai,

Thank you for contacting Ooma Customer Care

Refund must be processed with itunes/android market. It was a purchase from them. The $9.99 fee did not go to Ooma.

If you have further questions or require additional clarification, please write me back and I will respond to you as quickly as possible, usually the same day. Anyway till today I didnt get any refund and Ooma is pointing to Android to check for refund and when I goto Android Wallet thru which the App was purchased, it gives link to Ooma to contact, so... it is back and forth to Android and Ooma.

Any one wants to purchase this app, please note it is not an working App(Android- Samsung Skyrocket ) and you will not get your money back after purchase, even if your are not satisfied with the App. Think it as donation to Ooma.

But Ooma do you really need this cheap business Strategy to make money... think twice...

Sai, you'd have to get your money back from whoever you paid....in the case of iPhone app purchases, get money back from iTunes.

I am wondering if the Ooma app wasn't playing nicely with your router, when you were checking the app out and was having issues, were you connected to cellular data network or your router? I had a couple of Trendnet routers that didn't work with the Ooma app; also my D-Link 825 didn't work out of the box either, I had to upgrade the firmware.

I tried with Cellular NW...

There is no provision to get refund from Android Market ... all I had is a link to send e-mail to support@ooma.com....
But the Ooma CS reply is bad... they say that I paid money to Android Market and I should ask them for refund... If I paid to Android.. it finally goes to App providers that is Ooma in this case.

From Android market one can cancel and get refund within 15 minutes of any App purchase... this Android provide so that if anyone accidently presses purchase button, they can cancel it immediately and transaction doesn't take place...
If one is not satisfied with the purchase then the provider has to take care... how can Android take care of it?
