Hi all,

I've read the posts on delay and talked to Ooma support and am still confused as to the solution. I've had my Telo since Oct 2009 and have overall had very good sound quality. Then the delay issue set in a month or so ago.

This is only an issue for outgoing calls from the Telo, in which the person on the other end hears their voice as a very loud delay or echo. The workaround has been for them to call me back; incoming calls don't have this issue. I've tried the *99 suggestions, as well rebooting modem-router-Telo several times, with no luck. Here's my info

Firmware: Rev: 1.43368
Download: 26 Mbps
Upload: 360 Kbps

The Ooma rep told me it's because my Upload speed is too low, yet I've been running Speedtest about once a month since I started using Ooma back in 2009 and upload has consistently measured at 360 Mbps.

Any thoughts or ideas as to what I should try next?

Thanks for the suggestion. I followed the instructions in the link and changed setting to 'Use built in MAC address', rebooted everything, yet still have the delay issue. :x

BTW, I have the Telo in between the modem and router with the upstream QoS setting at 310 Kbps (same as it's always been).
Any other things I might try?

I am interested in seeing what my "Maximum TCP delay:" is.

Thanks, I'll call my ISP (Time Warner RoadRunner) and see about getting a new modem.

In laymen's terms, what is TCP Delay and how is it critical to VoIP? ( Just in case I have to explain my 'new modem need' to my ISP. :D )

Ran the VoIP test again this morning. TCP Delay is quite acceptable now (46ms), but the voice delay with the Telo is still just as bad as before. Color me confused.
