We have the ooma telo and recently, when we are talking to someone, the second line will cut in with a dial tone. We did not press anything. If we go over to the telo, we press line one and it goes back to line one with with the person we are talking to still on. We do not have a second line. Example, talking for 2 minutes, line two goes on and we hear the dial tone for line 2, go over to Telo, press line one and we are back to talking.

This happens as various intervals during the conversation, meaning it could happen at 30 seconds, 3 minutes, 5 minutes etc. When we go back to line one, it never does it again during that conversation.

Factory settings from day one and we have had this about two to three months.

Hello,

Is this happening on all calls or certain callers? Inbound or Outbound?
The best thing would be to try to capture some call details when it happens.
Please include: date, time, caller's phone number, carrier if possible, and exact behavior

Thx

It is happening on all outgoing calls. It does not happen on incoming calls. They are random numbers, Right down the street with a 330 area code, or new Hampshire on thanksgiving. The duration on thanksgiving was 3:31 and today the duration around 2:06 and 0:58. The carriers are different, New Hampshire is a cell phone and local was a Land line. Other calls in past were not the same carrier.

The exact behavior is as described in the earlier post. talking then line 2 kicks in with a dial tone. Does not kick line one off, just starts a new dial tone on line 2. Again, if we hit line 1 on the telo, it goes back just fine to line one.

Help solve this problem.

This has happened to me twice this week, but had never happened in the previous 6 months. Both were incoming calls. The most recent occurrence was 12/3/2010 at 9:57am CT. You can see in the log that a second call from the same caller came in at 10:05am CT, but this was only a single call.

Well it happened on all calls. Incoming and outgoing. It even happened when we called voicemail. Kept getting the run around from ooma, is it your phone, you internet, is something too close, blah blah blah. It only started when we downgraded from Ooma premier to basic service. Nothing changed in our setup, but they would not get it. So we took it back and got a refund.

We are no longer OOMA customers. We did like the service, and had every intention of keeping it, but they screwed something up and had no idea what.

Went with magic jack and are very happy for now. Only spent $40 and it works with no cut in or dropped calls. Hope all is well with Ooma and good luck to all who have it.
