What functionality does the Hub USB port provide?

Just looks good. Not used for anything.

If it does get power, perfect for laptop cooling fan to place the Hub on.

I have tried to charge things with it and nothing seems to want to charge. Ooma says that it is functionless.

I just tried. No juice from the usb port.

Yes, the hub's usb port is only for looks. Plugging in any usb device to it will serve no purpose other than a
place holder.

On the other hand, the telo's usb port can trickle charge devices or accommodate the Ooma Bluetooth adapter.
