Home distribution with DSL service

Post by gjwhitehorn » Sat Oct 23, 2010 10:28 pm

I was just wondering -- if/when I cancel my landline (which is on the same line as the DSL) and go to dry-loop, could I then run all my phones through the Telo by plugging its Phone jack up to a wall jack, without disconnecting the phone wiring from the telco (since I'd still need it for DSL)?

And if my landline gets cut off, does that also mean its 48V power signal will be gone, or not? (I guess that's kinda the same question from a different angle.)

I'd have the dsl come into the house via pair 2 so you can do dialtone distro using pair 1.

Yeah, I thought of that; I was just hoping I could get out of the extra effort that would take. ;)

Unxcrewing two wires and re-attaching them to two other screws hardly qualifies as "effort".

Haha, ok, fine. :P
But I did qualify "effort" by saying "extra" -- that is, the amount of work over and above just plugging the Telo into the wall. ;)
