Scout quality with long phone cable?

Post by whitesox33 » Sat Jul 17, 2010 5:48 pm

I have two different phone numbers I'm setting up, but one is in the basement and the other is on the main floor. I've read its best to use a short phone wire from the wall port of the hub to the wall port of the scout. The problem is my scout needs to be on the the main floor with the hub in the basement....so I need a 50-75 foot phone cable connecting the two. Will this long phone cable ruin the call quality?

No problem. The scout uses HPNA to communicate with the hub and since it is a digital signal, the distance won't degrade your call quality at all. Be aware that some have complained about outgoing call quality with the scout - but this is on an individual basis and might be an isolated hardware issue. Many folks love their scouts. I've retired my hub/scout and use my Telo exclusively - but I had no problems with my previous system.
