Anyone had to call 911 on their Ooma number

Post by samq » Mon Jul 12, 2010 4:01 pm

I am thinking of eliminating my land line with ATT, but I need to make certain the 911 emergency work on the Ooma system before going land line bare as we are getting older and may one day need call 911 for a medical emergency. Have anyone call 911 using the Ooma phone number? And how was the response? Thanks.

Look up your 911 center's non-emergency phone number and request permission to make a test 911 call using your new VOIP phone system at a time of their choosing. If they aren't busy when you call they may tell you to hang up and make the 911 call immediately. That's the only way you can be certain that it works for you.

I've had four 911 calls since January. All worked well. They knew where I was and my number.
One if by Land
Two if by Sea
Three if by Limo
