Wireless Home Network with Ooma Hub on Verizon FiOS

Post by KhaliJeb » Sat May 01, 2010 6:48 am

My current configuration - Wall ==> Verizon Modem/Router ==> Ooma Hub ==> PC (I had to go with this configuration because Ooma would lose the signal when I was doing my Usenet downloads)

This causes my PC to get an IP address 172.27.35.xxx allocated by the Ooma Hub which is outside of my home wireless networks' range (192.168.xxx.xxx). I cannot Remote Desktop to or access my mapped drives on the other PCs.

Please help. I am absolutely not conversant with port forwarding etc. (not tech challenged, just never got into all this stuff) and would appreciate some noobie hand-holding.

Thanks a lot

Connect your PC to the modem/router instead of the Ooma Home port.

That was my initial setup. However, the Ooma tab light would turn red while I was downloading.
