Porting out

Post by srivenkat » Sat Jan 30, 2010 8:55 am

Say sometime from now I want to port my number FROM Ooma to my cell phone and get a new number for my Ooma account. I wonder what fees would be involved.

I don't know about fees but if you port your number away from ooma it will in all likelyhood cancel your ooma account unless you set it up with them ahead of time.

My recommendation is to Pay for Premier on a monthly basis.
Get a new number from Ooma.
Have Ooma swap your numbers so that the new number is the primary and the number that you want to port is secondary.
Port away your secondary number leaving the account with the new primary number in place.
Once the port is complete, wait a month and then cancel Premier if you don't want it.
