However, I am having trouble getting my scout to work. I plugged it in to one of my wall outlets and only got red lights.
Is there a way to check to see if my scout is even working?
Use a telephone cable with an RJ11 jack on both ends. Connect one to the WALL jack on the back of the ooma hub and connect it directly to the WALL jack on the back of the ooma scout. Of course you will need to provide AC power and a phone to both the hub and the scout base. Set them side by side and watch to see if both the ooma Hub the Scout lights up blue and happy. If it does, assume that you have broken wiring or connectivity in the telephone wall-jack wiring at some point.
