I'm a month into this and still no port. That means I paid for the Ooma and am still paying for my landline svc. Does calling customer service help speed this up or would that just be a waste of time?

Always a good idea to call and check if you want input. You should have received an email with an expected delivery date. If that date has been exceeded by all means contact someone.
