Is 2nd wired line used in ooma

Post by grathke » Thu Jul 23, 2009 8:23 am

I'm wondering if ooma only uses line 1 of the house wiring (red/green) or is there a setup that also uses line 2 of the house wiring (black/yellow)

BTW, I found a nice color conversion chart for comparison of the 'old' wiring colors to the newer CAT5e at:

Yes, the "phone" and "wall" ports are only wired for a single copper pair. You can use a two line phone system but you'll need to work the scout into the equation (connect wall port to the scout and use the scout's phone port for the second line).

Personally, I put the "phone" port on my line 1 wiring and use my line 2 wiring to carry the HPNA signal for the scout.
Go AVS!
