I just setup my father-in-law up with Ooma. He has Buckeye Cable in northwest Ohio and they installed an Arris TG852. I believe it's a modem/router combination. It's wireless and also has four ethernet ports. He has been having the problem of the Ooma box disconnecting from the ineternet. When I try to access the Ooma box from a PC it can't resolve either the URL (setup.ooma.com) or the IP address (172.27.35.1).
I tried both directly connecting to the Ooma box and via the network. My PC keeps getting a 192.168.1.200 IP address. The modem/router uses subnet 192.168.0.x. The Ooma box gets an IP of 192.168.0.2 but I can't access the Ooma manager from there either.
Any suggestions would be appreciated.

When directly connected to the Ooma "To Home Network" port, the PC should not get this IP. Maybe you have wifi turned on? Turn that off and just use ethernet.
Set port forward so you don't have to connect to the Ooma box via ethernet in the future. viewtopic.php?t=11921#p83732
