Registering HD2 handset

Post by cyras21 » Mon Dec 03, 2012 4:53 am

I have 2 lines, one for fax. I ordered 2 handsets. The first one registered fine to my phone line, which is secondary number, but the second handset keeps registering to my fax line.

How to correct this?

If you go into My Ooma at https://my.ooma.com/phone_numbers , you can create a private account, or if you already have a private account, move the second HD2 handset to the Main account, by clicking on the phone name. In the window that opens, you can select which account you want the phone to be in by clicking on the down arrow following the word account. Then Save. It takes a few minutes for this change to take place.

thunderbird said it...

This is where you want to go to take a look https://my.ooma.com/phone_numbers

If you have all your devices listed in the "Main Account," and the "Main Account" has both of your numbers assigned to it, then, both numbers would ring all your devices.

If you want your "fax" number to ring all by itself when called, you probably want an Ooma Linx so you can set up a "Private Account" for it and assign your "fax" number to it.
