Once port forwarding done, you can access the setup.ooma.com page by going to the IP address given to your wifi adapter by your router (example: 192.168.1.xxx, or 192.168.0.xxx); you can setup DHCP reservation for your Ooma wifi adapter so you know it would not change.
First in your Router, reserve an IP address, with a pernanent lease, for the Ooma Telo Wi-Fi adapter.seltaeb24 wrote:Newbie here from Canada and I luv my ooma, I have it set up with the usb wireless adapter. I want to access the setup page but it seems right now the only way I can do it is to bring the telo downstairs and hard wire it to my computer. I have tried using the 172.27.35.1 with firefox and does not work. Any help would be appreciated, cheers
This will be the number that you will type in your computer brower, Example http://xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx
after completing the next step:
Temporarily connect a network cable from your Ooma device home port, to the wired LAN port of a computer. Temporarily turn off Wi-Fi in the computer, if turned on. Reboot the computer. Access your Ooma Setup pages by typing http://172.27.35.1 in your computer browser window. The Ooma Setup pages open.
Click on the Advanced tab. Put a check mark in front of "Allow access to web interface from WIRELESS port" and then click on Update. (If an Active Ooma Telo Wireless Wi-Fi USB adapter isn't connected to the Ooma Telo, the it will read "Allow access to web interface from Internet port".
Remove the Home port Internet cable and test.
