Switching from Time Warner

Post by wheelbig » Sat Aug 25, 2012 11:34 am

I'm currently using Time Warner's digital phone. The way they have it hooked up is a cable modem with a phone cord coming out of it plugged into a wall phone jack. The phone I use is plugged into a wall jack in a different part of the house. Is it safe to assume from this configuration that Time Warner already disconnected the landline from the house wiring? I'm quadriplegic and can't get in my basement or back yard to check for myself.

I personally would feel comfortable unplugging the phone wire from the T/W modem and plugging it into the ooma phone port.
