Home distribution: modular plug or the connections

Post by zamboknee » Mon May 09, 2011 5:14 pm

So I'm wiring my Ooma for home distribution and am confused about WHICH Is the line from the telco that I'm supposed to disconnect.
Is it the modular plug (typical phone plug) or the 4 connections that hook to the posts inside (small skinny twisted wires)?
I have only a 1-line telco hookup.
Thanks

Disconnect the modular plug and tag it with a note not to reconnect it.

Murphy's answer is almost certainly correct, but if you still have dial tone from the TelCo (quite possible even if you have discontinued service, since many TelCos still provide dial tone for 911 calls only), you can determine the answer yourself. Whichever one kills the TelCo dial tone in your house is the one to leave disconnected so you can hook the Telo's PHONE jack to the house wiring.
