I have a Hub and Scout...My phone downstairs will have a new number. I am in area code 402 but there is a new area code implemented of 531 since the 402 numbers are exhausted. When I attempt to aquire a new phone number for the scout it tells me there are no numbers available. How can this be when the new area code 531 is for any new phone numbers??

I really don't want people who are calling locally to need to dial 1 before the number, that could be a little confusing for some!

I will be porting my phone number upstairs so that will not be an issue.

The carrier ooma uses in your area may not have any of these new phone numbers in the 531 area code assigned to it. With the area code being new, it may just be a matter of time before they get some. I would recommend you call ooma support to see if they can get their carrier to speed the process of getting some of these new numbers. Certainly worth a try.
