During activation, I chose to use Ooma with my landline. According to the Quick Start Guide, that requires me to connect the WALL port to my phone jack. I did it, but I don’t like it because the jack is about 20 feet away. The problem will be solved once my number has been ported to Ooma, and I cancel AT&T, but until then how can I get Ooma to work without this connection?

I believe you have to contact Ooma Customer Support to configure things on their side first.
