Porting Status

Post by spdinny » Tue Dec 21, 2010 3:22 pm

I don't know if this is just bad timing with the holidays but here's my Port Status:

Port initiated complete Number port is estimated to complete on Dec 31, 2010
Port scheduled for completion complete Your port is scheduled to complete on Jan 03, 2011

Can someone tell me the difference between NUMBER port & YOUR port?
I'm porting from Verizon, did NOT choose use existing landline when setup, so i have an OOMA number.

Any idea where my verizon number phone calls will be going for these 4 days?

I wouldn't go by anything estimate. I'd go with the final date of Jan 03. My port information no longer appears since it's completed.

RDD = Port initiated - Number port is estimated to complete on xx/xx/xx
FOC = Port scheduled for completion - Your port is scheduled to complete on xx/xx/xx

Thanx for the info.
I should consider the second date(1/03/2011) "FOC".
Will my Verizon service be turned off on the first date(12/31/2010) "RDD"?

FOC is what you go by now. The estimated is out the window now.

No. It will be turned off early in the morning on the port date. The first date no longer means anything, it was an estimate that was wrong.
You may not have phone service for part of the day.
