I'm unable to get my new handset to register with my Telo (first handset, don't have any others to try).

I've tried the power off, hold left and 0 key, power on trick, but the phone just says 'Auto Registration'.

Unfortunately, I wasn't in front of the phone when I called support, but she told me to enter the PIN when it says 'Auto Registration' on the handset. Does that sound right? I thought it was supposed to beep and prompt me for the pin?

I've reset the Telo and tried all the tricks.

You didn't mention it so I will ask.
Did you press and hold the "Antenna" key (upper right corner) on the Telo until it starts to blink?
