Job description:

The Revenue team is responsible for ensuring the integrity of worldwide revenue measurement, reporting and forecasting by providing technical expertise, business sense, and a strong desire to improve processes and controls. The Senior Revenue Accountant will report to the Director of Revenue. This role will be responsible for maintaining and improving Ooma’s revenue recognition model and the day to day management of revenue related functions. This person we will be a self-starter who enjoys working in a rapidly growing environment where she/he can make a substantial impact.

The position’s responsibilities will include worldwide revenue recognition and processing of the full cycle order to cash functions. This position will require effective communication skills and the ability to interact with senior management and various departments including Sales, Finance, Services and audit staff.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Responsible for all cash applications for the Company’s collections.
  • Review sales/cash data to ensure accurate financial flow between various systems and NetSuite modules.
  • Prepare and document monthly revenue calculations for all direct customers.
  • Responsible for all service revenue schedules and updating service revenue forecast schedules.
  • Prepare monthly journal entries, including monthly reconciliation of assigned accounts.
  • Prepare reconciliations between cash and revenue roll-forwards.
  • Responsible for updating VSOE and BESP schedules.
  • Review revenue contracts for compliance with the company’s revenue recognition policy and internal controls.
  • Prepare quarter-end related audit schedules and flux analysis.
  • Provide detailed reporting and analysis, including the preparation of revenue-related support schedules for the 10K and 10Q reports.
  • Contribute to Sarbanes-Oxley implementation effort, including supporting walk-throughs, developing and supporting policies, procedures and
  • maintaining adequate internal controls.
  • Assist with ad hoc accounting and financial projects as requested.

Required Experience & Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance
  • 7+ years of accounting operations experience
  • Excellent system skills and data mining
  • Detail-oriented with good organizational skills, able to balance multiple tasks in time sensitive situations
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, particularly Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
