Manufacturing Product Engineer

Job Title: Manufacturing Product Engineer
FLSA Classification: Exempt
Department: Manufacturing Operation
Location: : Newark, CA
Reports to: James Li

Summary:
Looking for a manufacturing product engineer with a passion in supporting new product development and support high volume production. Must be driven to meet timelines that will directly impact the product’s time to market schedule. A “hands-on” personality is required.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for mechanical design review, prototype fabrication and assembly.
  • Responsible for documentation including fabrication drawings, manufacturing & assembly drawings.
  • Analyze design for manufacturability from initial mechanical design ID.
  • Deliver documentation offering critical analysis and suggestions on mechanical and packaging designs
  • Review CAD drawings from Marketing team
  • Collaborate with product development and marketing team on product development.
  • Manage the transfer of technical knowledge to mass production facilities oversea.
  • Troubleshooting and problem-solving ability.
  • Demonstrated analytical expertise including ability to plan, resolve problems effectively, and establish priorities.
  • Work with factories oversea to manage production throughput and quality.
  • Travelling to manufacturing facility to inspect the integrity of the production line setup and perform test station maintenance.
  • Review and sign off on ECO releases then relay ECO to factories.
  • Review and provide detail feedbacks on sample item from product mechanical components to printed packaging material
  • Experience with CAD programs
  • Knowledge of design-for-manufacturing disciplines

Required Experience & Qualifications:

  • BS in Mechanical or Industrial engineering
  • 3-5 years of experience in mechanical design
  • Understanding of manufacturing process from SMT, QC, Testing, Mechanical Assembly and Pack-out.
  • Ability to read detailed engineering drawings and specification
  • Excellent verbal/written communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently or as part of a team
  • Knowledge of statistics and statistical process control
  • Knowledge of IPC standards for Printed Circuit Boards
  • Experience with the Engineering Change Order process
  • Experience with PLC such as Agile
  • Experience with Windows and Linux Operations
  • MS Office experience including Visio
  • Familiarity with ISO and TL9000 requirements
